Our founder, Baylen Smith, began their career with a degree in Criminal Justice. Facing the uncertainty common to many new graduates about their career path, the discovery of the recruitment field was not immediate. He started at Insight Global, where he gained valuable experience in recruitment that would lead to a role at Visa. The pivotal moment came with a position at Amazon, where the scope and scale of recruiting were magnified, providing a broader perspective on the industry.

Working at AWS offered insights into the larger hiring landscape and connections to influential people in the tech and engineering space. As he grew in his role it became evident that even minor errors in recruitment could lead to significant inefficiencies and financial losses. This understanding highlighted the importance of meticulousness in the recruitment process and the impact of small details on the overall success of a company.
